Breast augmentation at my Toronto practice has been a very popular procedure for many years. In fact, it is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures in all of Canada. Women choose to undergo breast enhancement for a number of reasons. In this post, I will share some of the most frequent requests when women come in for a consultation.
1. How Do I Even Out My Asymmetrical Breasts?
I will start by saying this: No 2 breasts are alike. Having two identical breasts is highly unlikely. Typically, this is not an issue because the shape or size discrepancy is subtle. However, sometimes women have 2 noticeably different breasts. This can be caused by puberty, hormonal changes, breastfeeding, or trauma. Many patients with significant asymmetry explain that it causes them insecurity during intimate moments or when wearing a bathing suit. It also can make it difficult to find properly fitting clothes. Breast augmentation is a highly customizable procedure. Your surgeon can evaluate your breasts and create a surgical plan that involves using different sized implants to even out the size of your breasts. You can see one of my patient’s results below:

2. How Do You Fix Disproportionately Small Breasts?
Generally, both men and women strive for a proportional body. Women are often unhappy that their breasts are not in balance with the bottom halves of their bodies. Unfortunately, regardless of what you eat and what exercises you do, there is not much you can do to change your breast size on your own. This is probably the most common motivation for women who want breast implants. Women who have underdeveloped breasts often experience embarrassment about their figures. Implants can provide women with a fuller figure and boosted confidence, as you can see in a patient’s photos below. 3. What Is the Best Reconstruction After Mastectomy?
Some women receive breast implants following a mastectomy—the removal of 1 or both breasts to fight or prevent cancer. Breast reconstruction can involve implants or fat transfer to restore a woman’s breasts.
4. How Do I Get My Boobs Back After Pregnancy or Weight Loss?
Pregnancy and major weight loss can significantly change a woman’s breasts. For example, many women lose the full shape and lifted position they once had. Breast augmentation can help women regain their desired breast shape and size after having children or losing weight and can also restore a sense of femininity.
5. Can Breast Implants Improve My Self-Image?
For many, the decision to have breast augmentation comes down to the issue of confidence. The results speak for themselves—97% of RealSelf users report that undergoing breast enhancement is “worth it.” Plastic surgery isn’t for everyone, but if you think enhanced breasts would help you feel happier and more confident, then you should highly consider a breast augmentation. This is a decision that you must make on your own. It’s your body—you must only do this for YOU. Visit our online photo gallery to get a better idea of your potential after breast augmentation.
