Breaking It Down: How Much Does Blepharoplasty Cost in Toronto?

If you’re wondering how much eyelid surgery costs in Toronto, upper eyelid surgery at Ford Plastic Surgery starts at $7,500 CAD plus HST. Your total cost depends on whether the top or bottom eyelids are treated, the surgical technique required, and whether additional procedures are combined. Because no two patients are alike, your exact pricing is determined during a personalized consultation.

Planning ahead is easier when you understand what drives the cost. Below, I walk through the key factors that shape eyelid surgery pricing at my practice.

Typical Eyelid Surgery Cost in Toronto

At Ford Plastic Surgery, blepharoplasty pricing reflects the expertise and care provided by an RCPSC-certified plastic surgeon. Eyelid surgery can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids, or both, and I often combine it with an endoscopic brow lift (endobrow) to reduce brow heaviness and smooth forehead lines. Here is an overview of estimated pricing for common procedure combinations at my Toronto practice:

  • Upper eyelid surgery: $7,500
  • Double eyelid surgery: $8,400
  • Lower eyelid surgery: $9,013
  • Upper and lower eyelid surgery: $13,463
  • Endobrow with upper eyelid surgery: $15,080
  • Endobrow with upper and lower eyelid surgery: $21,838

All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude HST. In some cases, upper eyelid surgery may be partially covered by insurance, which I discuss in a separate blog post. For a complete overview of our surgical fees, visit our pricing and financing page.

The price differences between procedures reflect differences in complexity, time, and technique. Here’s a quick look at how the three primary eyelid procedures compare:

Key Factors Influencing Eyelid Surgery Cost

Several elements contribute to the total cost of your procedure. Here is a closer look at what shapes your investment:

Surgeon Expertise

The cost of eyelid surgery reflects your surgeon’s training and experience. As an RCPSC-certified plastic surgeon, I have developed a focused expertise in the delicate anatomy of the eye area. My fees reflect advanced training and a commitment to delivering precise, safe results tailored to your facial structure and aesthetic goals.

Procedure Type

Not all eyelid procedures are equally complex, and pricing reflects that factor. Upper blepharoplasty typically takes about an hour and can be performed under local anesthesia. Lower blepharoplasty is more involved: it often addresses both excess skin and fat deposits beneath the eye, requires general anesthesia, and takes 2 to 3 hours to complete.

Double eyelid surgery, also called double fold surgery, creates a defined crease in the upper eyelid for patients who do not naturally have one. This technique is slightly more involved than a standard upper blepharoplasty, which is reflected in its pricing of $8,400 plus HST compared to $7,500 plus HST for a standard upper eyelid procedure.

Anesthesia and Facility Fees

The quality of your surgical environment is part of what you are investing in. Your surgery takes place at St. Thomas Surgical Centre, our fully accredited on-site facility staffed by highly trained anesthesiologists and surgical nurses. Whether your procedure requires local or general anesthesia also affects your total cost.

Combining Procedures

Pairing your blepharoplasty with a complementary procedure, such as an endobrow lift, is often more cost-effective than scheduling each surgery separately. When procedures are combined, certain fees like anesthesia and facility costs are paid only once. Combining surgeries also simplifies your recovery by consolidating your downtime.

Beware of Bargain Eyelid Surgery Pricing

A lower price tag may seem appealing, but it is worth looking carefully at what is included. Some estimates may not account for anesthesia, follow-up visits, or the level of technique required to produce natural-looking, long-lasting results in the delicate eye area. These factors directly affect your safety, your recovery, and the overall quality of your outcome.

We offer financing through trusted partners to help make blepharoplasty accessible for patients throughout the Toronto area.

Are there alternatives to lower eyelid surgery?

Some patients considering lower eyelid surgery may actually benefit from nonsurgical fillers, such as Restylane®, or fat grafting to fill in hollowed-out areas between the lower eyelid and the cheek. These treatments are initially less costly, but the results from filler treatments are temporary.

Hi, I was in the clinic many years ago researching a breast augmentation due to the removal of a tumour which decreased the size of one breast. I’m inquiring now to see if there’s such a thing as a ‘mommy package’ that would include tummy, breasts, and some facial work? And if this would be all done at once?

Hey, I am considering getting upper eyelid surgery. I read that its local anesthetic. Do I need to have someone pick me up to bring me home. Id prefer to keep the procedure private so Id prefer to get home myself. Is there any way to accommodate this?
    Rgds.
