Upper Blepharoplasty with Ptosis Correction Before & After Case 323

Before & After
Case Details
It is important to recognize upper eyelid ptosis when evaluating patients considering upper eyelid blepharoplasty. This is a condition where a structure named the levator aponurosis becomes stretched with age and does not allow for complete upper eyelid opening. This results in a sleepy or droopy eyelid presentation. This very busy patient of mine, who is in his mid 60s, underwent upper and lower blepharoplasty surgery with micro fat grafting to the upper cheek region. A tarsolevator advancement was also performed to correct his bilateral upper eyelid ptosis. The lower photograph was taken approximately eight weeks following surgery. Ptosis surgery is often combined with upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery to ensure a natural outcome is attained.
