Facelift/Neck Lift Before & After Case 264

This lovely patient in her 50s came to see me for facial rejuvenation. She had been bothered for most of her life by the fullness in her neck. There are many causes of a full-appearing neck and I approach every patient in an individualized way.
This patient had excess fat deep in her neck, redundant muscle, and she had prominent submandibular salivary glands —as highlighted in the video. When these glands are particularly prominent, they can be inadequately addressed if your plastic surgeon is not specialized in aesthetic surgery. For this patient I performed a deep necklift to remove the excess deep fat, a small amount of muscle, and the prominent part of the submandibular glands. She has a natural appearing, much improved, contour to the neck and jawline at 4 months post-op.
