Initially, we place internal nasal splints to maintain open airways. These splints help alleviate the congested feeling many patients experience post-surgery. You will also have an external bandage and splint for about 2 weeks.

During this initial healing phase, avoid exercise and any vigorous activities that could elevate your blood pressure. These activities may increase swelling and the risk of bleeding. Taking it easy and allowing your body to heal without overexertion is key to a smooth recovery.

Many years ago, I had a primary rhinoplasty and was not happy with the results. Given this experience, I was very cautious about trusting someone to do a revision. When meeting with Dr. Hanna, he assured me he would not agree to operate on me unless he felt confident he could make an improvement. We discussed my overall goals and my desire to make sure it still looked natural.  Immediately following the surgery, he was incredibly attentive.  It has now been two months since the surgery and there is already an improvement to the shape and profile, yet it is subtle enough that it is not obvious to others.
